Summary
The purpose of this letter is to invite views from: scallop fishermen, local authorities, caterers and other interested parties as to whether the current rules governing the sale of small quantities of bivalve shellfish (such as scallops) to the final consumer or to local retail establishments are considered clear or adequate. And, if they are not considered to be clear or adequate, to invite suggested alternatives along with the rationale for their adoption.
We would very much welcome your views on this matter so please send your response no later than 19th May. A list of interested parties is attached to this letter, but please forward to anyone who may have an interest.
