Loch Arthur Creamery is recalling all batches of Crannog and Killywhan cheeses because Listeria monocytogenes has been detected in batches of both products.                              

Risk: The detection of Listeria monocytogenes in the products listed below. Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and includes high temperature, muscle ache or pains, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis. Some people are more vulnerable to Listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.

Loch Arthur is recalling all affected products from its customers. A point of sale notice will be sent to all businesses that sell the products, explaining to customers the reason for recall and the actions they can take if they have bought any of the affected products.
