Update from Food Standards Scotland, The Food Standards Agency, Food and Defra following the rise in cases of feline pancytopenia in the UK

Food Standards Scotland, The Food Standards Agency (FSA), The Royal Veterinary College (RVC), The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra), the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA), local authorities and the pet food supply chain are all continuing to take the situation extremely seriously and all potential causes of feline pancytopenia are being investigated.

Trio of appointments to Food Standards Scotland Board

Food Standards Scotland announces the first new appointments to its Board since it was formed in 2015. This follows the launch of its six year Strategy to 2026, which focuses on issues that matter most to people in Scotland including improving the Scottish diet.

New survey raises concerns around cooking practices for frozen chicken products across the UK

A new Ipsos MORI survey, commissioned by the Food Standards Agency (FSA)  and Food Standards Scotland (FSS), has found that almost half the adults questioned (46%) do not always check cooking instructions when they prepare coated frozen chicken products.
