Food Standards Scotland has today called for significant changes to make food outside of the home healthier.

The next Food Standards Scotland Board meeting will be held on 21 August 2019. The meeting will begin at 10.30 am and run until approximately 3:30 pm.

Food Standards Scotland welcomes the report which strengthens the evidence and supports the existing advice that a balanced diet limiting the amount of saturated fat can help to reduce the risk of heart disease.

Food Standards Scotland (FSS) has taken the difficult decision to end its contract with Hallmark Meat Hygiene Ltd. Hallmark supplies Official Veterinarians and Meat Hygiene Inspectors to undertake controls to support Scotland’s important meat, game and poultry industries.

Food Standards Scotland and the Food Standards Agency are continuing to investigate foods linked to listeria infections in hospitals.
