Under FOI legislation I request the following please, relating to meat found to be unfit for human consumption in Scottish abattoirs/meat plants:

Q1. For each of the years 2021, 2022, 2023, data/figures on "conditions" (for poultry, sheep/goats, cattle, pigs, other species) identified at Scottish abattoirs and meat processing plants that resulted in either whole carcasses or parts of carcasses being declared unfit for human consumption in FSS approved meat establishments

Q2. For each instance where carcasses / meat (or parts of) were declared unfit for human consumption, the reason, i.e. the condition that prompted the decision to reject the carcass or meat from the human food chain.

Q3. Please highlight or indicate in some way (if possible) all the cases which resulted in whole carcasses / animal being rejected (total rejections) , as opposed to parts of the carcass / meat.

• Carcase = Part of a carcase

• Offal = Respective offal only

• Total Rejection = Full carcase and associated offals & body parts

• Head = Head only
